Liver Abscess

Category Liver Diseases

A liver abscess is defined as a pus-filled mass in the liver that may be a liver surgeon or an intra-abdominal infection extending from the portal vein. These abscesses are classified as pyogenic or amoebic, although they are minimal due to parasites and fungi. A liver abscess can arise from several different sources, including a bloodstream infection, a stomach infection, or a stomach injury that has turned into an infection. The common infectious bacteria are E Coli, enterococci, staphylococci and streptococci.
